Melukat – purification

Traditionally referred to as “Melukat,” derived from the Balinese word

‘Lukat’ meaning to purify, this sacred soul purification ritual centers

around holy water. The practice is often performed when entering a new

phase of life, recovering from illness, or celebrating key Rites of Passage,

such as marriage or childbirth. The holy water is believed to cleanse and

harmonize the body, mind, and soul.
